Jo Ngo (b. 1995, Hồ Chí Minh) is a Saigon-based multi-disciplinary artist whose work spans moving images, virtual reality, augmented reality, new media art, and recently, sound art. Jo’s dreamlike digital landscapes transform the everyday to become immersive and sometimes interactive works.
Within these pieces lie repurposed, sublimated, and archived objects that unveil stories reflecting the hope, optimism, resilience, and creativity of today's Vietnamese inhabitants, amidst the challenges and changes brought by the economic boom.
Focused on healing art and meditation, Jo's artworks provide a timely refuge in a post-pandemic world, translating ideas of social justice and environmental vulnerability by juxtaposing human and manmade elements with organic forms in post-human worlds, deeply rooted in connection, community, and technology.
